God Is Looking For You

Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from Your presence? If I ascend to heaven, You are there!  If I make my bed in Sheol, You are there! If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there Your hand shall lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me.

Psalm 139:7-10

Our son was a cross country runner and ran at the Tiffin Carnival Cross Country Race in Ohio.  The race attracts about 7,000 school age runners and probably three times as many spectators.  Our son was twelve years old the first year he competed there.  We stood in a mob of spectators and roving packs of runners and wondered how we would ever find our son in the crowd.  Then our son found us.  “Hey, watch me race!” he said and disappeared back into the crowd.

That’s the way it is with God, when you are looking for Him, God is looking for you. 

And, He will find you.

Dilegently Study The Word of God

The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing,

But the soul of the diligent grows fat.

Proverbs 13:4

Make time every day to feast on the word of God and grow strong and confident in your faith. 

My Heart Trusts In Him

Blessed be the Lord,

Because He has heard the voice of my supplication.

The Lord is my strength and my shield;

My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped;

Therefore my heart exults,

And with my song I shall thank Him.

The Lord is their strength,

And He is a saving defense to His anointed.

Save Your people and bless Your inheritance;

Be their shepherd also, and carry them forever.

Psalm 28:6-9

The Hand of Fellowship

Greet all brethren with a holy kiss.

1 Thessalonians 5:26

When the Apostle Paul wrote this, it was a literal statement.  Now we don’t kiss everybody at Church, but this is an example of how we should treat each other. 

When a group of people get together to work for a common cause, there are always people who do not see eye to eye regarding how things should be done.  As a result, people are not always nice to each other.  Working in the Church does not exempt us from this phenomenon. 

As Christians, we are serving Christ and we can work to build fellowship and cohesiveness in the Church by cutting each other some slack and offering words of encouragement to one another, especially in situations where things are not going as planned. 

And, no matter what our differences are we can offer everyone the hand of fellowship.  A handshake is the twenty-first century version of a holy kiss.
