Seek
the Lord while He may be found;
Call
upon Him while He is near.
Let
the wicked forsake his way
And
the unrighteous man his thoughts;
And
let him return to the Lord,
And
He will have compassion on him,
And
to our God,
For
He will abundantly pardon.
Isaiah
55:6-7
Many
of us struggle with friends and family who are not Christians and who do not
live lives in accordance with the laws of man or God. To say this is painful for us is almost an
understatement. It is difficult to watch
people we care about destroy their lives and the lives of those around them.
While
we may be inclined to back away from these people, God does not back away. He is waiting for them. God is compassionate and He wants to forgive
them.
And,
this gives us hope for those we love and care about – God’s mercy is for
them. All they have to do is ask. So, when you think there is no hope for a
person, remember God will abundantly pardon, and take comfort in this.
