But
encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called “Today,” so
that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.

we have become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our
assurance firm until the end….

What do we say to Christians who are dogged by their past bad decisions? We cannot fix their past and we cannot make amends for them. The best we can do is to encourage them to continue on in their efforts to become new in Christ.
A few kind words of encouragement does more to reform the heart than ten years in jail.
Speak kindness.
