Even
my close friend in whom I trusted, who ate my bread, has lifted his heel
against me.
Psalm
41:9
There
is a hurt so deep that it can’t be spoken, and that is the betrayal of a friend
or family member for whom you have done much.
We feel foolish that we were tricked for perhaps the hundredth time succumbing
to their endless talk and questioning and begging.
God
has called us not to be doormats, but to love one another. Sometimes the best way to love someone is help them by not helping them. It's hard but it can be done.
