For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God. For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!”
The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God….

Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation.
Romans 12:16
I was out with my grand-daughter, when a friend of mine said “Hello.” The little girl ignored the greeting. I said, “Oh, she is stuck up.” And, my friend laughed.
When I was in high school in the 1960’s one of the worst labels anyone could receive was “She is stuck up.” This implied that the individual was self-important and nobody liked them.
Paul warns us against displaying a haughty or stuck up spirit because it does not reflect the love of God which is in us. We are urged to associate with the lowly, or those who appear to have less than us economically, socially or spiritually. Note that the scripture says to “associate with the lowly” not necessarily to become like them. We don’t need to rob a bank to minister to a thief.
Being courteous cost us nothing and does much to further the Gospel.
Let us not loose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.
Galatians 6:9
When we are doing the work of Jesus there are always critics. I heard people criticize a church for sharing the Gospel and praying with people who come for free food. Do people really believe that we can fulfill our mission to take the Gospel to the world, without talking and praying?
Would a big corporation go handout free stuff to poor people and not have the company name and logo splashed all over the place? I don’t think so.
Therefore, we should be bold in our proclamation of Jesus as the Savior of every man, woman and child. We are not forcing people to agree with what we say; we are saying it so that they will know that God loves them.
We do good because we love God and we love people and that is all there is to it.
Keep doing good.

“You will seek Me and find me when you search for me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord…
Jeremiah 20:11-14
The Lord’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease,
For His compassions never fail.
They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“Therefore I have hope in Him.”
The Lord is good to those who wait for Him,
To the person who seeks Him.
