More Than Bread

Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led around by the Spirit in the wilderness for forty days, being tempted by the devil. And He ate nothing during those days, and when they had ended, He became hungry.

And the devil said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.”

And Jesus answered him, “It is written, Man shall not live on bread alone.”

Luke 4:1-4

Jesus knew the torment of temptation.  He was hungry, but His hunger did not overrule His ability to resist an easy fix.

We face temptations every day.  We make choices according to what we believe to be the right thing to do.  It may mean we do something that is not popular because it is the right thing to do and we are berated for it.

It all comes down to, making the right decision means we are honoring our commitment to God and not man.

And, our commitment to God comes first.
