Do
not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness
and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness? Or what harmony has Christ with Belial, or
what has a believer in common with an unbeliever? Or what agreement has the temple of God with
idols? For we are the temple of the
living God; just as God said,
“I will dwell in
them, and walk among them;
And I will be their
God and they shall be My people.
Therefore, come out
from their midst and be separate,” says the Lord.
“And, do not touch
what is unclean;
And I will welcome
you.
And I will be a
father to you,
And you shall be
sons and daughters to Me,”
Says
the Lord Almighty.

Corinthians 6:14-18
Often
this scripture is used when talking about Christians marrying non-believers,
but it also applies when we consider who to choose as friends and/or business
partners. This is not to say that if we
are employed that we will not be forced to work with unbelievers, but to say we
have to evaluate the methods used by co-workers to determine if they ethical
and legal, and not participate in actions which are unethical and/or illegal.
This
may mean that we won’t be the most popular employee, but it may keep us and
others out of jail. And, we can exercise
the option of looking for employment elsewhere.
Choose
your associates with care.
