Boldly Do Good

For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.

2 Timothy 1:7

It is not always easy to serve God.  We can face resistance from our families, friends and enemies of the Gospel.  This is to be expected.  If everything goes smoothly all the time, chances are we are not doing what we should be doing in the name of the Gospel.

Whatever we do there will be critics.  If we feed the poor critics say we are enabling them not to work.  If we send clothing to poor people in Third World countries, we are thwarting the growth of industries in those countries.  If we buy school supplies for a child who has none, we are allowing the child’s parents to neglect the child.  And, so it goes on and on criticism by people who have food, clothing, no children, and no idea what it is to serve God by serving mankind.

Therefore, ignore the critics and boldly serve God.  It is what you are called to do.
