Not The End, The Beginning

Pilate handed Jesus over to be crucified.

They took Jesus, therefore, and He went out, bearing His own cross, to the place called the Place of a Skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha.

There they crucified Him, and with Him, two other men, one on either side, and Jesus in between.

Pilate also wrote an inscription and put it on the cross. It was written, “JESUS THE NAZARENE, THE KING OF THE JEWS.”

John 19:16-19

They showed no mercy when they crucified Jesus. Little did they know that the events of that day would shake the world.

We proudly bear the name of Christians, because we believe that Jesus did not just die that day, He died for all our sins so we could be united in fellowship with God. Though we mourn Jesus’ horrible death, we rejoice knowing the cross was not the end; it was the beginning because Jesus rose from the grave, defeating death once and for all; so, even when we breathe our last breath, we will not be gone forever, we will simply be present in a better place.

Good Friday was not the end, but the beginning.
