Jesus Is The Light of Life

Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”

John 8:12

Jesus promised to never leave us alone.  Even in our darkest hours, when we lose hope, He is there with us and He will see us through.

We are called to be in the Light, and that Light, Jesus will never be extinguished.  The love of God, through His Son, wraps itself around us, comforts us and encourages us.

We have the Light of life.

The Lord is Good to All

The Lord is gracious and merciful;
Slow to anger and great in loving kindness.

The Lord is good to all,
And His mercies are over all His works.

All Your works shall give thanks to You, O Lord,
And Your godly ones shall bless You.

They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom
And of Your power;

To make known to the sons of men Your mighty acts
And the glory of the majesty of Your kingdom.

Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
And Your dominion endures throughout all generations.

Psalm 145:8-13

A Day of Thanksgiving

So David blessed the Lord in the sight of all the assembly, and David said, “Blessed are You, O Lord God of Israel our father, forever and ever.

“Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens and the earth; Yours is the dominion, O Lord, and You exalt Yourself as head over all.

“Both riches and honor come from You and You rule over all, and in Your hand is power and might; and it lies in Your hand to make great and to strengthen everyone.

“Now therefore, our God, we thank you and praise Your glorious name.”

1 Chronicles 29:10-13

Today we thank God for all His blessings.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Be Strong

You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

2 Timothy 2:1

We all face tough times.   Remember that God is with you in all things, He loves you, and He will deliver you on the other side.

Keep the faith.

Be A Wise Guy

Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity.  Let your speech always be with grace, and as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person.

Colossians 4:5-6

First impressions are lasting.  The Apostle Paul knew this that is why he advises us to think about how we treat those who we meet.

We do not have to fake being kind because we are kind or at least we should be kind to everyone.  We do not have to agree with their life style or their behavior.  But we are acting as Christ’s ambassadors and therefore, if we practice engaging our brains before our mouths, we will do much to further the Gospel.

The next thing we know we will be hearing things like, “Wow, I thought Christians were kind of stuck on themselves and their little groups, but you, you are different.”

It is your job to break those stereotypes.  Do it well and do it with kindness.

To The Known God

So Paul stood in the midst of the Council of Areopagus and said, “Men of Athens, I observe that you are very religious in all respects.  For while I was passing through and examining the objects of your worship, I also found an altar with this inscription: TO AN UNKNOWN GOD.  Therefore what you worship in ignorance, this I proclaim to you.”

“The God who made the world and all things in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands; nor is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all people life and breath, and all things; and He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation, that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and exist, as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are His children.’”

“Being the children of God, we ought not to think that the Devine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and thought of man.”

“Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent, because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has raised from the dead.”

Now when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some began to sneer but others said, “We shall hear you again concerning this.”

So Paul went out of their midst.

But some men joined him and believed…”

Acts17:1-33

Today people are still seeking the Unknown God.  He is the One who loves them, and requires no silver or gold but only their worship.

God is right there with those who seek Him, waiting to be invited into their lives.  All we have to do is what The Apostle Paul did, tell them that God “…is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and exist….”
