We Have the Mind of Christ

But the natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.

But he who is spiritual appraises all things, yet he himself is appraised by no one.

For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he will instruct Him?  But we have the mind of Christ.

1 Corinthians 2:14-16

Unbelievers cannot begin to understand the depth of God’s love for us or the power of God’s hand in the world.  They rely on what they know to be true – that is everything is more or less a cosmic accident.  Man may tinker with events, but in the end it is what it is.

Those of us who are believers understand that all things are a result of the actions of the Creator of the universe – God.  As totally awesome as gravity is, it did not come about as the result of a crapshoot of extraterrestrial events.  It could only happen as a result of a well thought out design and a plan to execute that plan with great precision.  Only one could pull this off – God the All Mighty.

When we come to God, and surrender of hearts, minds and lives to His will, we become part and parcel in the carrying out of God's plans.  We are His hands, feet and voice in the world.  We are directed by His Word, the Bible, to seek God’s guidance and wisdom and act in accordance with it.

Therefore, we are spiritually vested with the power to take the Gospel to the World and to do those things God directs us to do.

And, that is why the Apostle Paul informs us:  We have the mind of Christ.
