He Names The Stars

Praise the Lord!
For it is good to sing praises to our God;
For it is pleasant and praise is becoming.
The Lord builds up Jerusalem;
He gathers the outcasts of Israel.
He heals the brokenhearted
And binds up their wounds.
He counts the number of the stars;
He gives names to all of them.
Great is our Lord and abundant in strength;
His understanding is infinite.

Jesus Never Changes

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Hebrews 13:8

Even if we drift away from Jesus, He is still waiting to welcome us back.  He did not come to condemn us, He came to love us.  Jesus, who called you the day you asked Him into your heart, still loves you and looks after you.  Nothing will ever change that.

Lift your hands to the heavens and call His name, Jesus.  Feel His presence wrap around you in love.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Not Fast, But IIt Will Come To Pass

But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.

The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

2 Peter3:8-9

Not a Foothold, A Stronghold

The Lord is good,
A stronghold in the day of trouble,
And He knows those who take refuge in Him.

Nahum 1:7

When the boss is yelling and the bills pile up and your kids act up, God is still on your side.

God wants us to turn to Him when things are not going well.  In fact for some of us, we do a lot more turning to God in our days of trouble than we do in our days of blessings.

What is important to remember is that in good times and in bad times God is good and He loves us no matter what.

Help People Help

He who steals must steal no longer; but rather he must labor, performing with his own hands what is good, so that he will have something to share with the one who has need.

Ephesians 4:28

Every day the Church faces the dilemma of how best to serve new Christians who have criminal pasts.  One way is to help them secure a jobs so they can earn money to live and support their families.  This is no easy task, but by forming job clubs and recruiting employers who are willing to give those who want to change their lives an opportunity to do so, the Church can minster to those who are often under-served by the Church.

And, enable those helped to help others who are in need.

Take Action

He who observes the wind will not sow, and he who regards the clouds will not reap.

Ecclesiastes 11:4

Every time a farmer plants a seed, he is taking a risk. He is relying on rain and sun and weather so that he can harvest a crop and make a profit.  If farmers did not have faith, they would not be farmers.

Life is a risky business.  Choices we make don’t always turn out the way we think they will.  Sometimes things are much better and sometimes they don’t go so well.

Fear should not paralyze us.  We know God is on our side and no matter what happens God is with us.

And, sometimes when we think things have gone terribly wrong, it turns out that it was for the better in the long run.

Have faith and take action.
