What Does It Say?

But the righteousness based on faith speaks as follows:  “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’  (that is, to bring Christ down), or ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’  (that is to bring Christ up from the dead.”

But what does it say?  “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” –that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.”

Romans 10:8-11

There are all sorts of barriers humans put up to separate us from God.  There are those who would have us give cash to assure our salvation and those who would have us to do all manner of external things like wearing odd clothing.  There are those who would list everything we must give up like card playing or dancing or eating certain foods.

But, what does the Bible say we must do? The Bible says “if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved….”  That is it.  That is all there is to it.  It is the confession that sets us free and it is the confession that brings us salvation through Jesus Christ.

Make your confession and start your new life in Jesus Christ.
