Getting Ready

For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us;
And the government will rest on His shoulders;
And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9:6

Christmas is all about the coming of Jesus our Lord, Master and Savior.

Some people have made Christmas all about spending money and trying to outdo one another in buying bigger and more expensive gifts.  But I think the real joy comes in giving simple gifts, like a plate of cookies or taking a friend to a Christmas concert or Christmas caroling with our children.

And, taking time to talk about Jesus being the most unexpected Savior of the world.  Who would have thought a baby born in a stable 2000 years ago would turn the world upside down?  Yes, upside down.  Even the meanest, foulest person can be transformed when they recognized and declare Jesus as their Lord, Master and Savior.

Let us take time to celebrate the joy of knowing Jesus and His transforming power for us and the world.
