So
Gideon and the hundred men who were with him came to the outskirts of the camp
at the beginning of the middle watch, when they had just posted the watch; and
they blew the trumpets and smashed the pitchers that were in their hands.
Judges
7:19
In
the Book of Judges, we read the strange directions Gideon received from God regarding
assembling and arming an army to attack the camps of the Midianites and Amalekites. Gideon followed God’s directions and the
Israelites defeated their enemies.
God
is not in the business of doing things in ordinary ways. God is in the business doing things in ways
that demonstrate His power over all things.
When God directs us, it is not our job to question Him, it is our job to
act and trust God.
When
God says, “Smash the pitchers,” get busy smashing.
