And We Think We Have Problems

We count those blessed who endured.  You have heard of the endurance of Job and have seen the outcome of the Lord’s dealings that the Lord is full of compassion and is merciful.

James 5:11

When things are not going well, we do not feel blessed – we feel cursed.  So, what does James say?  James says we should think about Job.  Job had more problems, disappointments and hard times than anyone else in the history of mankind.  Job got no help from his friends and his wife suggested he “Curse God and die.” (Job 2:9).

Did Job give up on God?  No.  He said, “… Shall we indeed accept good from God and not accept adversity?”  In all this Job did not sin with his lips (Job 2:10).

Whatever we suffer, God is there with us and He loves us.  He is steadfast.  Let us be steadfast.
