Therefore
I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling
with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with
patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, being diligent to preserve
the unit of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Ephesians
4:1-3
Well,
here it is December 22 and we are ahead of the curve with our Christmas
celebration. All the decorations are
decorating the house. Our family
Christmas celebration with gifts and goodies was last Friday evening and we,
and our grandchild, went to a Christmas Eve church celebration Sunday
afternoon. All we have left to do is
Christmas dinner.
Why
the rush?
It
was not a rush, it was a strategic plan.
Along time ago, we decided we would not fight over holiday celebration
dates. Our family like many others includes
a grandchild who lives with a parent other than our child. We plan our celebration so we can enjoy Christmas
without the drama of arguing about who gets the kid when and/or shuffling the child
around on the holidays. The goal is to
celebrate and we do.
No,
we do not have our grandchild with us on December 25th, but we do
have a nice Christmas celebration.
So,
if you wrestle with something like this, perhaps you will consider the gift of yielding
the day so that everyone can enjoy celebrating Jesus’ birthday – including YOU!
Be
peaceful, be merry, it is Christmas.
