Redemption Trumps The Past

And Jesus answered him, “Simon, I have something to say to you.”  And he replied, “Say it, Teacher.”

"A money lender had two debtors: one owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.  When they were unable to repay, he graciously forgave them both.  So which of them will love him more?”

Simon answered and said, “I suppose the one whom he forgave more.”  And He said to him, “You have judged correctly.”

Luke 7:40-43

God’s forgiveness radically changes people.  The most radically changed are those who required the most forgiveness.

We as humans tend to remember everyone’s sins and to forever judge people based on their past.   But God forgets the sin and bathes the forgiven in His love and grace.  That is why even the most vile among us, are radically changed when we come to Jesus, ask for forgiveness and make Him our Lord, Master and Savior.

No one is beyond the love of God and we as Christians should know this best and let our memories of the past be short and our view of God’s works of redemption be long.
