Be
angry, and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and do not
give the devil an opportunity.
Ephesians
4:26
Nothing
can damage us emotionally, spiritually and physically more than raging
anger. When we are hopping mad, our
blood pressure rises and our good senses leave us and we shoot off our mouths saying
things we will regret. In our wake we
leave a mess.
That
is why we need to count to 10 or 20 or 100 and calm down. Things look different when we are calm.
The
Bible does not say we are not to be angry. It says we are not to sin because of
our anger. Anger can bring us to a place
where we do great things, if we are willing to squelch the rage and work on
doing what is right.
