Experience the Possible

And Jesus, looking around, said to His disciples, "How hard it will be for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God!  It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

They were even more astonished and said to Him, "Then who can be saved?"

Looking at them, Jesus said, "With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God."

Mark 10:23-27

Perhaps the disciples were disturbed that Jesus said it will be hard for the wealthy to enter the Kingdom of God because He came preaching that salvation was for everyone, and these words were contrary to that.  However, what Jesus wanted to make clear was that we, no matter how wealthy or powerful we are, cannot create a different set of rules for salvation because the only way to God is to acknowledge that we are sinners and to repent of our sins and ask Jesus to be our Lord, Master and Savior.  And, this requires that we acknowledge that Jesus is more powerful that we are.

For wealthy and powerful people this can be a humbling experience because they may be used to creating their own reality and their own version of truth. Or in other words, they may consider themselves to be better than other people which affords them special treatment.

That's not the way God's love and salvation works.  God loves us all and wants us to all ask Jesus to be our Savior.  His conditions for salvation are the same for everyone because God loves us all the same.  Coming to Jesus may be hard for some people, but it is possible.

Experience the possible.  Ask Jesus to be your Lord, Master and Savior.
