No Intake Form

And the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed them.

Matthew 21:14

When Jesus healed the blind and the lame, He did not ask them to fill out an intake form.  He did not interview them to determine their level of need.  He did what needed to be done in the moment and He improved their lives.

Perhaps we should follow this model and be less eager to discern circumstances and more eager to fill needs.  A good example of this is churches that feed the hungry.  They do not line people up and interview them, they serve food and people are fed. 

Asking no questions and providing services allows needy people to keep their dignity.  And, when we provide for people’s needs, we open the door for them to see Jesus.
