No Hand Slapping

So then each one of us will give an account of himself to God.  Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather determine this—not to put an obstacle or stumbling block in a brother’s way.

Romans 14:12-13

I think the point of this is that we should not be so quick to pass judgement on the doings of other Christians.  What we may think is going on, may not be what is happening at all.

We cannot minister to the unchurched without associating somewhat with them.  We cannot expect people to abandon their sinful lives, and the friends that go with it, unless they have someone else to associate with.  So, when we see Christians eating out or having coffee or going to movies with someone who is unchurched, we should not assume that they are being corrupted.  We should cut them some slack and be supportive of their efforts.  We might even ask them if there is something we can do to help.

Offer a hand shake, not a hand slap to your brothers and sisters in Christ.
