Not a People Pleaser

“…but just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God who examines our hearts.”
1 Thessalonians 2:4

Have you ever responded to someone with a sound, Bible based answer, and had them get all offended?  I think that is what this is talking about.  We cannot just be “yes” people who blindly pat everyone on the back so as not to hurt their feelings.  When we see wrong or evil at work in a person’s life, and they ask for an opinion, we are not serving them well nor are we serving God, if we do not speak the truth of God’s word to that person.  We can cushion it and cloak it in understanding, but we need to speak the truth.

Our purpose is not to be a people pleaser, but God pleaser.
