“Now
we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those without strength and
not just please ourselves. Each of us is
to please his neighbor for his good, to his edification. For even Christ did not please Himself; but
as it is written, ‘The reproaches of those who reproached You fell on Me.’” Romans
15:1-3
I
think Paul was talking about giving each other a hand, when we need a hand, and
even giving a hand to those who we don’t think deserve help.
This
means taking time to talk to someone who is having a tough time. It is not for us to judge whether or not another
person’s problems are of their own making or not, but rather a matter of
showing compassion.
When
we act with compassion, we build up the kingdom of God.
