Grace: It Is Free

“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.”  Ephesians 2:8-9

Being fair would mean that people with more money, more talent or more intelligence would have to do more to earn salvation than those with fewer resources.  It would also give those with greater abilities an opportunity to boast about what they did to be saved.

God, in His infinite wisdom is interested in equality.  When we stand before God, we are all equal.  We are loved equally; we are valued equally; and we are equally saved by grace. 

What does this mean for us?   God gives no one bragging rights; God gives everyone grace and a free ticket to paradise, just for the asking.
