“Now
there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are varieties of ministries, and
the same Lord. There are varieties of
effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons. But to each one
is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.” 1 Corinthians 12:4-7
Several
years ago, I heard the testimony of woman who said at a young age she was a binge
drinker and that at her lowest point she stopped at a church hoping to talk to the
pastor. The pastor was not there, but
the janitor was. She unloaded her burden
on the janitor, who listened to her and assured her that God loved her and had
a plan for her life. The janitor prayed with
her.
The
woman came to Christ and turned her life around. That woman is motivational speaker and author
Becky Tirabassi (http://www.beckytirabassi.com/).
Was
the janitor’s gift from God swinging a mop or was it compassion and
evangelism?
We
all have gifts from God; let us boldly use them to minister for Him.
