Confidence and Endurance

“Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has great reward.  For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what was promised.”

Hebrews 10:35-36

It is difficult to remain confident when your best efforts were not good enough.  When you have put your heart and soul into doing something and then all your efforts seem to have been wasted, discouragement creeps in and tries to up end your faith in God.

I think the worst case of this I had was when my daughter turned her back on everything we taught her about life and God and chose a life of addiction and crime.  The day she went to prison was the worst day of my life.  She is in prison now.

Confidence in God and stubborn endurance, gave me the faith to confess that God’s plan for my daughter is greater than any plan I might have for her, and, therefore, I must trust God.

In the midst of the terrible wreck my daughter has made of her life, she is beginning to understand that God loves her.  She works on a daily Bible study and has been listening to KLOVE Christian radio.  And, I the mother who nearly lost hope find this to be of great comfort and cause to hope.

I know God’s plans supersede my plans.
