Sometimes We Walk Away

“For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul?”  Mark 8:36

Applying the words of Jesus to our daily lives saves us a lot of grief.  It is easy to side step what is right and go along to get along.  The problem with this is that then we can’t sleep at night.  It is a terrible feeling knowing that what we did does not measure up to the Word of God.

Jesus wants us to think before we act and consider if our actions line up with loving our neighbor as our self or, if our actions are based on self-interest and greed.  Yes, it is nice for the boss to like what we are doing, but if what the boss likes violates the laws of God or man, then we need to step back and look for a different job.  Ditto, for friends who would drag us to the edge of the pits of hell in the name of having fun.

Sometimes the right thing to do is to walk away.
