Needy, Needy, Needy

With my mouth I will give thanks abundantly to the Lord;
And in the midst of many I will praise Him.
For He stands at the right hand of the needy,
to save him from those who judge his soul.

Psalms 109:30-31

Needy people are everywhere.  I am not talking about those with physical needs; I am talking about those who need constant attention.  They can be emotionally draining because no sooner does one crisis pass, than another arrives.  Their car is broke or their cat is sick or the school called or their baby sitter quit or if they are late for work one more time they are going to get fired, and so on and on and on the needs go.

I want to scream, “Get a grip.”   But I don’t, I just listen and try to think of an excuse to run away.

But God listens.  God cares about everything and He saves the needy from those like me who just aren’t very sympathetic.

If I were less like me and more like God, I would say, “Everything will be OK.  Let’s pray.”

Maybe the next time I will.
