When I was in elementary school this Bible verse, The Golden Rule, was prominently displayed in every classroom. It was not there because it was a religious edict to be rammed down our throats; it was there because it was good human relations.

The Golden Rule is powerful not because it demands something difficult of us, but because it demands that we do what is easy, act in kindness toward one another.
