I will bless the Lord who has counseled me;
Indeed, my mind instructs me in the night.
I have set the Lord continually before me;
Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
Therefore my heart is glad and my glory rejoices;
My flesh will dwell securely.
For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol;
Nor will You allow Your Holy One to undergo decay.
You will make known to me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.
Psalm 16:7-11
When people are trying to resolve a difficult problem, they sometimes say, "Let me sleep on it."
To which I say, "Wow." Right here is the reason why it works, "my mind instructs me in the night."
I think the meaning of this is that God is intimately aware of how we as humans fret and stew over things when we are not sure what to do, and that He has equipped us with brains capable of sorting things out for the best.
How cool is that? The next time you are not sure what to do, sleep on it, and see what is new to you.
