Rock Star Treatment

“They brought the colt to Jesus and put their coats on it; and He sat on it.  And many spread their coats in the road, and others spread leafy branches which they had cut from the fields.  Those who went in front and those who followed were shouting:

“Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord;

Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David;

Hosanna in the highest.”

Jesus entered Jerusalem and came into the temple…”

Mark 11:7-11

Jesus was at this moment a rock star.  The people were thrilled by His miracles and awed by His teachings.  They rejoiced at seeing Him. 

As awed as they were, they could not stop the events that were unfolding which would lead to Jesus’ crucifixion.   The cruelty and torture which Jesus suffered marked His physical body as being mortal. 

Jesus’ resurrection from the grave marked Him as being divine – 
The Son of God.
